DSK’s Book Hotly Anticipated

After having so much written about him, it seems the former IMF chief and Socialist party presidential hopeful won’t be tackling the hot issues in his new book

It’s official: Dominique Strauss-Kahn is preparing a new book, but before we get too excited, it must be noted that his upcoming oeuvre will not feature the infamous Nafissatou Diallo affair from the Sofitel in New York. No mention is be made either of the equally infamous case of the Lille Carlton (in which it was alleged that DSK was part of a group that organised swinger soirées of prostitutes).

Instead, the fallen angel of French Socialism will concentrate solely on more mundane matters, according to French weekly Journal de Dimanche and the book will detail his involvement in one of the most powerful financial institutions in the world – the International Monetary Fund. The other big surprise is that the book’s publisher is not one of the big names (despite the many offers he has received), but the small-volume publishing house Descartes & Cie.

The company was created in 1993 and specialises in specialist books on economics, sociology, anthropology and psychoanalysis. The title is a closely-guarded secret but according to Journal sources, DSK will offer his vision of the world and of the global financial crisis and will include anecdotes on various political characters that he has had the pleasure of meeting in the course of his three-year stint as head of the IMF – most notable will be some vignettes on Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy.

The DSK book is due out on October 15th.
