Louis Vuitton’s Marc Jacobs gave us his final collection for the house at the Louvre Museum on a runway that was all feathers, fountains and dark fluffiness in Paris last night at yet another gala event attended by plenty of rich and famous.
The show appeared to have little to do with Spring or Summer as a parade of women in black were presented. Black was also the dominant colour at the Zadig & Voltaire show, where the clothes were more figure-hugging and sassy than the straighter classier lines of Vuitton (Coco Chanel meets the Addams Family peut-être?). More sexy winter party wear than summer attire, methinks. The Miu-Miu collection, meanwhile, lent a flavour of hippy-chic to Fashion Week with the kind of designs that were conspicuous by their absence up to that point.
