Following a long-held tradition, the 24th James Bond film will feature stars from French cinema, but will also feature an Irish actor in the role of Bond Baddie Denbigh
Today marked the media launch of the next James Bond film. Daniel Craig remains in the main role in the film “Spectre”, which is to be directed by Sam Mendes and is due for release on the 6th of November 2015.
There has been a long tradition in Bond movies of casting beauties from the world of French cinema and Spectre will feature two of them: Italian actress Monica Bellucci (former wife of Vincent ) and French actress Léa Seydoux (picture above – member of French cinematic royalty and star of “La vie d’Adèle”/”Blue is the Warmest Colour”).
There’s a first in terms of Irish participation, with Dublin actor Andrew Scott playing the part of a Bond baddie, making him the first Irish actor to hold such a role. Scott was most recently seen in “Jimmy’s Hall” and was Moriarty in the much-acclaimed modern-day “Sherlock” on BBC. He was awarded a BAFTA for his role as Sherlock Holme’s nemesis. Irish audiences of a certain age may also remember him as track-suited child out running with his father in a Flahavan’s Oatlets television advert campaign from the 1980s.
