Following the deaths of a number of climbers in the area this summer, the bodies of six more climbers have been recovered from Mont Blanc
The dead bodies of six climbers who have been missing since Tuesday evening in the Mont Blanc area were found this morning. The body of the sixth victim was found later on in the day in a crevasse, according to the prefect of Haute-Savoie during a press conference, adding that local gendarmes had confirmed the death of the sixth missing climber once they approached the inert body.
These French mountain-climbers were part of a six-person group which included a guide and who departed on Tuesday to ascend the 3,901m-high Aiguille d’Argentière (see pic) in the Mont Blanc Massif.
They were taking part in a course organised by the French National Union of Open-Air Sports Centres (UCPA).
